As the holiday season approaches, we have been planning a Limited Edition Santa Experience, where kids can come, mingle with an authentic Santa, have milk and cookies and experience some of that magic that we all wish had been throughout 2020. With this session, we also decided that we wanted to reach out and give back to our community!
Let me tell you a little bit about why we picked Chesterfield County Food Bank and how you can help.
When we drive on Route 10, we often see this HUGE line of cars going at least a mile back. The first couple times I saw the line, I had no idea why it was there or what these cars were waiting for. Then it hit me. This line of cars were all leading right to the food bank. How many cars? Too many to count. And how many family members rode in each of those cars? I can only imagine. If our small business could help fill at least one small need in this community, then we would find a way to do so.
So, how can you help you ask? Let me tell you! For each Limited Edition Santa Experience booked, we will take a portion and donate a cash donation to the Chesterfield County Food Bank. In addition, we are also asking for donations from the families, whether it be a cash donation, or a food donation! When teaming up with the food bank, we were given the Children's Program list of needs. This is the area where they are severely lacking in and we want to be as big of a blessing as we can to the community around us!
If you would like to donate food, please purchase from the list of items below (or items of the same category) and bring it the day of your Limited Edition Santa Experience (or call the studio at (804) 717-5790 to arrange a drop off).
Here is a list of things that are needed for the Children's Program in single serving size:
Other ways people can help is to volunteer. If you would like to volunteer, you can go to their website here: www.chesterfieldfoodbank.org/volunteer and fill out their sign up form or just show up ready to help.
Thank you for teaming up with Mommy & Me Portrait Studios to help our community to grow and flourish!
With all that is happening around the world, we love helping our community. When everything started closing down due to COVID, we decided we had to do something. It had to be something we could practicing social distancing, it had to be on a platform we already use and it had to be something that could help families take their mind off of the news and difficulties of this season in our lives.
We started with Small Business Story Time. Inspired by my children's love for reading and listening to stories read to them, we thought this could be a great way to help our community parents. They could set up the facebook video for their little ones and have a few minutes to do a little something for themselves. We love this project but felt we wanted to do more for our families...
Then came our K.I.D. Video series on Youtube. This is a passion for all of us here at Mommy & Me Portrait Studios! Although we are based in Chester Virginia, this project helped us to help our local community and everywhere our Youtube channel can be viewed.
Our K.I.D. Video series focuses on three different age groups depending on your host for the week; Gabrielle hosts ideas and projects for parents to create for little guys 2 and under, Stephanie focuses on kids ages 2-5 with her creative spin on everyday fun and Misty looks for projects that can span from 5 to early teens or games and challenges the entire family can get in on.
Our main focus is getting families together to create memories everyday.
